Overview: The Cuisinart DCC-1200 is made of sturdy, stainless steel and has a retro look and feel. It can brew 12 cups of coffee at a time, although you can adjust the number of cups you want it to make. It comes with a gold-tone, permanent filter, a swing-out basket and a glass carafe with a black handle. It has a digital clock and timer, a warming plate for the carafe, a pause-and-serve function, and a decalcification indicator.

This makes it greatly convenient for people who love their morning cup of brewed coffee but are too busy, too lazy or too impatient to go through the whole process of measuring coffee grounds, replacing the coffee filter and waiting for the coffee to perk every morning. The timer can be used to start the coffeemaker at your preferred time in the morning; of course, you still have to do the setting-up routine before going to bed.

The timer can also automatically shut off the warming plate up to four hours later, keeping your coffee warm on a lazy Saturday morning. The amount of coffee produced as well as the temperature of the warming plate can be adjusted, making the unit even more convenient to use. Furthermore, this coffeemaker always guarantees a great tasting cup of coffee because the decalcification indicator lets you know when it is time to clean out the hard water build up.

Full Disclosure: The Cuisinart DCC-1200 does not come with a coffee grinder and espresso maker attached – but I’m sure Cuisinart remembered these “shortcomings” when they set the price. The digital clock and timer work great, but the display is a bit hard to read so don’t count on it as your main kitchen clock.
